It’s Not Your Friend’s Fault

I think you have that one friend who eats more than you do, in quantity and quality, eating varieties of junk food but they never add an extra pound. Somewhere in your tiny mind, you know they deserve to be flaccid and all over the place like an orangutan but here they are, looking great and probably modelling.

I have a lot of them, actually and I don’t like them for it. Yes, I don’t like the friends I love when this weight thing is concerned. Durrh. Judge me.

I ran my usual online errands; schemed through some scientific and psychology workload to know if there’s some secret natural weight shedder or if their minds can just burn fat automatically and I found my answer; only to even get more pissed.

It’s GENES. Some weird genetic codes that help some people weight almost the same weight all through their adult lives. They didn’t inherit the set of genes that make people susceptible to obesity or extra adipose tissues.

Of course, these genes aren’t everything. Your friend probably works out and tries their best to stay healthy; they might also have a high metabolism speed but they hit jackpot from the scratch by having born in a family that don’t do fat people genes; that’s the scientific way it’s addressed. It’s the genes that make it possible for you to tilt towards extra fat, overweight and obesity.

You know what this means?

Nothing is a levelling ground. Nothing at all. We don’t have equal genetic inheritance; background, experiences and lifestyle.

There’s never been a logical basic for comparison — never. Even twins don’t have that.

There’s no reason to be upset or intimidated by anyone’s supposed success; heck, we don’t even have the same definition of success.

This is where I’m going: You can’t see the whole board and that contentment is going to ease up your life.
